I have been back in nottingham for just over a week now but tonight i am getting the train to Devon to meet with my family and go to some surf beaches with my kayak. Hopefully there is some good swell or i will be very bored!

Hi from Czech!

In the middle of June I was in Italy like every year! There were Teva Outdoor Games.

Chuisella had low water level, but competition was fun. Maybe the king of the falls was little bit dangerous:)

Water is coming in French Pyrenees, the Programs of the last 2 weeks was loaded :

Last of June/ Natural games

Once again twas a pretty fun event with concerts, extrem sport shows and a crazy athmosphere.
I did third place with a 670 points run; and got in the boater cross’s semi-final.

I finished second with a 720 points run; and I finished on third place in boarders cross.

As promised, I’m posting some kayaking pictures from the past few days. Most pictures were made by Puji Haryanto and Tirtaseta crew: I was taking care of a video camera :)

Cahyana

Our Saturday’s mission was Cahyana, a river Tirtaseta calls their playground. It is not hard to imagine why. Did you ever imagine an artificial slalom course with some waterfalls? When I was a kid I was fantasizing about something like that. Cahyana has an artificial irrigation channel with waterfalls up to a few meters high. Flat – waterfall – flat – waterfall,… Well actually it even starts with a waterfall. It is a fun but not intimidating run. I can’t wait till we do it again.

PAU FREESTYLE SHOW

On the 12th last June I organised with the Stade d’eaux vives Pau Pyrénées the first PAU FREESTYLE SHOW edition . Here you can have a look at it.

ALPES TRIP

At the end of May, I made a course for creeks in the Hautes Alpes and Italy with Pierre Lemoule. Germanasca – Mastalone – Egua in Italy. Onde – Gyronde – Gorge de la Durance et guil in France.

This trip is my second way to Norway. I was there before 3 year for walking. This part of our planet is beautiful. This Year i have a chance to paddle there…

We have a group of 8 kayakers. Two cars and a lot of food, bud not a lot of beer, how we saw in the past :-D

Our trip start on Sjoa river, where have been in next few days Sjoa River Festival, where our Czech friends Zajíc and Palo „Čuňo“ Andrassy has first and third.

Our first part on Sjoa river is Playrun. This is for me something new, because of quantity of Water. We have paddle without problems. Second part was Amont, this is more „downhill“ paddling. Nice part, and paddling to our cam place. There are our friends from Hydromagazin.

Next day we paddle Store Ula with their slides and waterfalls. This river was great…. Our next river was Driva Gaura, that is next nicest river in Norway for me. We make party and 3 of us have paddle Grove river.

Upper Rauma was with their Little Huka Falls something new, technical river with slides etc… We want to paddle, so we pay Bomb weg and paddle Lower Jori, we have not enought Water but…

Hi, I´m back from Norway.
The temperature is about 35 degree in Czech republic. It´s terrible. There were nice weather without rain and the temparature 25:).

We paddled in Sjoa, Otta and Driva valley. I was there with my friends from Prague. We drunk many bottles of alcohol and we had many funny situations on our trip.

Reality check was harsh after returning from New Zealand in February. A lot of work to be done on my college final paper, a job and short cold winter days meant not much paddling was on horizon. Furthermore, compared to last year, this winter wasn’t as generous with snow and not much water was coming down the Slovenian Alps this spring. Yes, this spring sucked for me from a kayaker’s point of view. Nevertheless I did join the white-water rescue training programme and I got to train as an instructor under supervision of Slovene water rescue guru Urban Herzog. If I don’t feel my best as a kayaker at least you can rely on me to be more accurate throwing stones at you when you get stuck in some sticky hole. Keep that in mind when looking for a companion to some crazy creeks this summer!

I spent 14 days in travelling with Palo, Eva, Zajic and many others from Czech and Slovakia.

First stop was World Champinoship of extreme kayaking  – Teva Outdoor mountains games 2010. The river Chuisella had low water level then last year. But in the evening the water rised and it was fun and pushy.In long race I was 4., because I paddled across the rock twice:(.

But I´m back from nice Easter weekend with friends. We paddled in Kamenice and Jizera in czech mountains.
